4 Things to Bring to Dance Class
4 Things to Bring to Dance Class! The length of time that a dance, hip hop, or tumbling class is at Maxwell Dance Studio is determined by age! Two year old classes start at a short 30 minutes. Our oldest performance dance teams who spend three to four hours a week at the studio. No matter what age your dancer is or how long his/her classes are, there are a couple important things to remember to bring to class:
- A water bottle! We DO have a drinking fountain, but it helps so much if dancers bring their own water bottle! These can be left in the cubbies in the hall with their regular street shoes and jackets. Water bottles help with not spreading germs and with keeping traffic through Studio A and distracting classes to a minimum.
- Correct dance shoes! When you register for classes and the recital plan, you will receive the correct shoes for that class (not including hip hop). To help your dancer get use to these shoes, and to prevent sliding on the floors, it is important that they wear them in class!
- Dancewear recommended for your class! Please read our post about the correct type of clothes for your class and to learn why! It’s honestly so important to be in the correct dancewear to get the very most out of your class.
- A hair tie, and bobby pins if you’d like, to pull hair back into a ponytail, braid, or bun! It is so distracting for dancers when their hair/bangs are falling in their face. It helps Immensely to have hair out of their face the entire duration of class!
