Maxwell Dance Teacher Spotlight – Shaunie
Ready for our next Maxwell Dance Teacher Spotlight: Miss Shaunie! We love helping you get to know our Maxwell Dance Studio staff!
Miss Shaunie grew up in West Jordan, Utah. When she was younger, she wanted to be a mom along with being an author or a labor and delivery nurse. Not incredibly out there dreams, right? Turns out, she went a completely different direction and is now a dance teacher and a professional photographer! She likes to tell people that her jobs as an adult are basically her hobbies from being a kid!
Miss Shaunie started dancing when she was four years old. She continued dancing on competition teams at a studio and then spent three years on the Copper Hills High School Dance Company. Her very favorite styles of dance are contemporary and jazz.
She met her husband while working at a school for kids with severe special needs. Their first born is their 100 lbs. labradoodle Murphey! They brought him home after being told they didn’t have a likely chance of having kids on their own. Three miracle babies later! She says being a mom is the greatest and absolute hardest blessing she has ever been given.
Random facts you didn’t know you needed to know about Miss Shaunie: she loves to longboard, does not like the color pink, has to be gluten free due to celiac disease, went to dental assisting school while in high school, loves slurpees but also hot chocolate, is a concert-aholic, loves holiday candy, is 0% a morning person, and reads/listens to an average of 80 books a year.
