Why a Dance Class Dress Code?

Why do we have a dance class dress code? A great question! And as always, we’re here and happy to help.

The number ones reason is for safety. If your clothes are too baggy, you might trip. If you wear the wrong shoes, you may slip and fall. Hoop earrings or necklaces? No thank you. They can easily catch on something (or someone else) and hurt you. We’ve seen earrings rip completely out of ears in our dance careers!
The proper dance attire helps dancers focus on class rather than what they are wearing. If dancers are continually adjusting their clothing or not able to bend in, let’s say, jeans, they cannot be focusing completely on learning.
Dance teachers are able to see proper dance form and technique much better with dancers in proper dance attire.
